All of the 1/12th scale cars I know do not use a slipper clutch. Whats happening is your diff is too loose and you are damaging the dill balls and rings.
To set your diff correctly you want the diff to just not slip. Ie get is as loose you can without it slipping at all.
May require a rebuild as the balls have a flat spot on them.
I always sand my diff rings with 600grit sand paper and use carbide diff balls as they are more round and harder than steel
use very little clear diff grease on the balls. which will help with not slipping
that's exactly the explanation I was looking for, many thanks! I rebuilt the diff already and did it this way
I will switch for carbide balls in a near future
