Both of these "quotes" are not the norm and having those types of failures we should have been approached to sort the issue out. In general if a guy has one failure, it can happen. 2 failures in back to back problems...we're missing an attributing factor.
A bad or shorted motor can run fine but will start taking down esc's if it's not caught. SO if you're one of those guys please either contact me here or via email:
[email protected] and I'll help sort out your car.
Motor was brand new with the brand new Gen2 RX8. That wasn't the issue (bad or shorted motor). If I would have called or contacted Tekin about these it would not have changed the esc smoking after 3 seconds of being turned on.
I've also had 4-5 ESC's in the last 2 months crap out with 3 of them with less than 30 minutes of run time.
