Most of the positions lost were due to bobbles or crashes, the AE mid motor cars were just as fast as anyone else on the track. Cav got mixed up with Tebo then caught his wing on a marshal's foot and couldn't gain his ground back. Maifield was bumper to backdoor on Tebo the last lap and a half of the A2, but couldn't pass him....it happens. Phend who won the nationals at the same location with a rear motor car didn't even make the A Main.....another great driver just didn't happen.
^ this. In A1 Tebo had Cav on his tail the whole way until Tebo flipped in front of him and Cav plowed through him, ending up with a snag on the marshal's foot. In A2 Maifield nearly got him on the last turn. The C4.2 did just fine.
