Similar lap times on tamiya slow motor racing (28T). I guess the 0.2v was not enough to compensate for the extra 128gm.
But there are strong batteries that are very light that should make the difference. e.g.
Fantom 5300/65c (270gm) - 7.85v

unfortunately i did not found an european reseller for fantom so far.
let's see where i can find one.
one additional question about your measurement.
did you just drive e.g. 6 minutues and then measure the voltage of your battery ?
