I recently built a second EB48. Electronics are the same, except in the new one I have a Gen2 instead of Gen1 RX8 and no Castle BEC.
I love not needing another bit of electronics floating around in there, due to not needing an external BEC for HV.
However, I still like the feel of the RX8 Gen1 (prior to the last software update) much better than either the last update to the Gen1 or the Gen2. The older firmware feels much more direct to me, though the newer one may be easier to drive except for finding exact distances for jump downsides (such as a downside into an immediate turn), due to having to pull the trigger further than I used to.
What can I do to get the old feel back with the Gen2? I have no current limiting nor timing in use on either, and both are tied to a T8 1900. Both have always been set up Linear for curves, and I've used the same model/rx in both with the same results (different feel of Gen1 and Gen2).
