You will want to check with the tracks you intend to race at. They may have their own set of rules. If they have a rookie class, it's usually "run what you brung" attitude. If you are going to run a spec. class, you will need to run the designated body/motor combo. I'd say that since you are new to onroad, the rookie class will be a good place to get your wheels wet. Just a note of caution... that 9.5 motor may be a bit too much to handle in a racing environment. Consider a good 17.5 motor as this will be plenty fast with boost and you can also run the spec class (no boost) when you are ready.
