I do it all the time. Its not a big deal. Tekin's are very easy. Crack open the case and solder a shorter wire. Done it to savox servo's too. Makes it look super clean and if you move things around you just do it again. If you dont want to solder directly to the esc or servo you can always cut the wire and crimp a new end.
The SP Rev Pro ESC is nice because the RX plug is external. Very easy to find one the length you need.
+1 to the removable lead on the SP's. I like that a lot. The vipers dont come apart, lol. the case is filled with epoxy
