Actually two different set of tires was quite common when SCT's first came out. The steering and forward grip these were able to supply was nearly unheard of at that time. We would run tires with less grip up front to just get a handle on things. That being said, things have changed a bit over the years and it's not as necessary now with all of the current setup possibilities on most vehicles (including tekno). I would say if you're having some handling/grip issues and have some track time, give it a try... what is there to loose?
Both on and off subject... I grabbed a half dozen pairs of avidrc.com (awesome bearings) of wheels from there and will beat them up a bit and see how they do. I will report back when I have some luck (or failures).
I have used the avid sabertooth wheels on this truck. They're a little flexy, but overall a good wheel and don't rub. I really like how they look and have had no issues.
