The best way is to not get water in the tire to start with. Get yourself a tupperware container, a brush and watch
this (not so greatly filmed but you get the idea) video.
Otherwise, to get water out, yeah, just try to squeeze it out and hope you're not running open cell inserts as water really eats those.
