When you charge 8cell battery with Cell master,
Increase power supply voltage higher than 13.8V(~16.0)
Then you can charge it at 1.0A
Cell master can't charge If the voltage of battery over power supply's output voltage.
I would recommend the power supply that has volt adjustable volume on it.(Power master : 10.X~15.X V)
No. 2 is fine if it has adjustable volume and it is enough for charging or discharging for one pack(two packs also possible if you charge 5A/5A) at the same time.

I have a little problem charging 8 cells AA.
It seems with my current power supply I cannot charge above 0.4A.
However, it used to charge the same packs at over 2A without problem with another charger (CDC) and the same power supply.
I tried another power supply @14V and the CTX MM can charge at above 1.0A for 8 cells.
I'm thinking of getting another power supply. my choices:
1. 12V switching power supply 20A
2. 13.5V switching power supply 12.5A
Obviously choice no.2 is cheaper but I'd like to know if it works perfectly with the cell master?
