Well, I gotta tell ya, I usually run 6-pole motors in my 1/8 buggy, and I have tested them to find that they only reach the top speed of a 4 pole when they have a lot of timing.. like up to 30 degrees, and they run cooler, but drink too much juice. Now In my car I have a 2050 6-pole, 14/45 gearing 60% punch and up to 7 degrees of timing from 20-30K. This seems to even the power out, And for some reason, has been very efficient for me. And is actually just normal top speeds with a lot of grunt.
But,in another 1/8 a 1900 4-pole with 17/46 gearing, 80%punch and 5 degrees of timing from 7-34K is being tested. Really, the timing was not wanted, but the esc insisted I keep it.
I have never used the top speed timing before btw.
