Have you tried rolling the motor so the tabs are sideways? I have an old proline slipstream body that looks great, but they discontinued it. You really do not have many options.
I haven't tried the universals, but read they smooth out the bumps but give up a lot of forward bite. You definitely don't want them if your running indoors at the Factory. There really aren't any super bumpy tracks around your area to justify trying them either. Let us know if you do though!
