Don't be afraid to crank the end bell timing, 1S is pretty easy on motors. For me, I feel like I'm getting the best out of my 1 /12 - 17.5 motor in blinky when it's coming off at about 130 degrees after 8 minutes.

I don't run 21.5 myself but the local racers that run them in VTA really seem to push end bell timing to the limit. I've seen some ridiculous motor temps at 4.2 FDR! I can tell you that the VST's don't like to see temps past 165 degrees so, be sure to monitor temperature.
