What is best way to setup pinion gear to center diff? Should it be tight as can be or loose.

What are good settings to try out on my HW SCT pro for my first run on a track? Have a SMC 70c 7200 pack.

1.Push the motor all the way in until the gears are tight. Tighten the top screw until it is barely touching the mount. Pull the motor out just barely. I check the mesh by holding one finger on the pinion then using another to rock the spur back and forth. I dont want a lot of play just a tiny bit with a nice click when it hits the pinion at either side. Also, make sure you hold the motor straight when you lock down the top and bottom screw, otherwise the gears will be rather noisy.
2.I set mine like this:
Running Mode:Forward only w/brake
Drag Brake Force:0
Cut off threshold:3.2 (5)
Start Mode (Punch):Level 3 (3)
Brake Force:50% (2)
Timing:0 (0)
All other settings stock.
