I have done both, and most of the time i'm told that my car feels pretty good, so I know i'm not too far off. At that point they will give me pointers to help my driving which is also helpful, because I may not drive a part of the track like I should be to be faster. yeah, there is always one part of the track that costs me. right now its a corner jump with an evil protruding pipe. so if you do it wrong, you will snap off an arm. so, I dont jump the corner and it costs me about 1 second per lap.
