I'm sorry, I don't agree with you there. I researched anodizing to find out how it worked, not because I want to do it in my garage - I have too many things in there now.

If I send in my sleeve and piston, I want to know what he is doing to it. That's all, just tell me what is happening to my little motor.

When I send in my F150 I ask specifically what the shop is doing. Not because I want to do it myself, but because the truck is mine and I want to know where they are sticking their fingers.

I also do that with the computers I am responsible for, but that's because the warranty idiots will fix the things that aren't broke and leave the things that are. . .different matter. . .

So, all that to say that I am interested as well, but I want to know more first.
