I can see the spot you are talking about, but no mark is there. It's either worn off or maybe they aren't Kyosho springs. Not sure what they use to color springs, so I just called it paint. Appreciate the help anyway.

I was thinking about that option anyway, what parts do I need to do that and what is the spring/oil/piston combo that seems to be the consensus starting point? I would be running mod on a medium sized indoor clay track, medium to high traction.
