Taper up = taper hole facing up = V V V V = smooth/low traction = fast compress/slow rebound= generates more traction in this orientation and might become edgy or traction roll if track has too much grip.

Taper down= taper hole facing down = ^ ^ ^ ^ = bumpy/ high traction= slow compress/ fast rebound = packs more on compression and faster rebound better in bumps
