Has anyone had problems with their SMC batteries long-term wise? At least with the latest releases?
Had some issues with SMC batteries puffing up easily in the past...thinking if I should give it another shot or not.
Lipo swelling/puffing has allot to do on how the packs are handled and used. That being said certain models which push the performance limits can have a shorten cycle life. In the end it's a balance between performance and reliability and this is tough to achieve. I'm sure factories have found some improvements on this balance.
For example we have sold thousands of a model and we never hear any issues. Then one customer has 4 packs and all 4 swell up. This tells me it has to be the way they are used and handled but the customer refuses to understand this. Typically if you follow the guidelines in our instruction sheet our packs should hold up for a good amount of cycles. Especially if your running them in a class that isn't harsh on packs like the 4wd SC class.
