RCShox billet Delrin spur gearset for the Team C GT8 nitro kit. As most have found there are some issues with the OEM spur gears so we started from a clean slate and redesigned better gears.
Material: The injection molded factory gears do not have the consistency needed for reliable operation and it is quite abrasive. They tend to wear out the expensive pinions prematurely. Delrin is a smoother and more effecient material that does not wear out the pinions saving you even more money.
Design: The pitch diameter of the gears is the same so you can get the EXACT same gear lash on both gears instead of one being tight and one being loose,either scenario can cause failure.
We also optimised the tooth angle providing less friction which in turn allows the gears to last longer.
Teeth count: Through relentless testing with all types of engines 5port/7port/9port stock and modified on short and long tracks, we feel that with the stock dif gearing (43/10) 45/40 is the best combination at this time. With the release of the new ring and pinion (43/13) once tested we will offer more gear choices in the future.
Set will come with new hardware
