I had a leaky rear diff. The problem was the screw holes in the diff were too tight. It seemed like I had the screws tight enough on the first build to the point I was afraid they would strip if I tightened them anymore. After the rebuild I was able to screw them in more. I also sanded the face of the diff where the gasket seals on a flat surface and now my diff doesn't leak.
Im about to build my diffs,I hear what you guys are saying,I think I might pre thread the diff housings without the cover or the gear on to be sure the screws won't bottom out or become to tight in the thread.
Hey can anyone tell me if the diff shims in the 2.0 kit are the same as the 1.0 , super soft.I have some of the hardened spring steal ones on the way to rebuild my 1.0 diffs with the hd housings,
