They are all a little too long. The Peak 4200 Powermax Sport pack is a pretty decent battery. They are about $35 so they don't break the budget either and are widely available.

It is not that the packs are too long, but that the wires come out of the end of the pack instead of the top that is the problem. I've posted this before, but so far haven't seen a better solution. Use the M05 battery retainer on the right side of the car, offset it with 6mm of spacers and longer screws. Use the M03 retainer on the left. This will offset the battery 6mm to the right and balance out the motor a bit and will give the battery wires more clearance on the left.
