Try the 4000kv SC PRO combo, unless you have a VERY large track. On a 115 foot straight a 12 pinion is the largest you should run in my opinion, the 4000kv set up is pleanty with a 15 pinion. The front wheels balloon like crazy going down the front straight.

My 4000kv hobbywing feels pretty weak @ 16t pinion. Can't make the double double section at my track. Figure an 18t pinion should fix that till i can get some new smc's.
Btw i ran it on a loose 8th scale outdoor track and i can say the stock setup works VERY well, i'd say it's about 95% dialed for my tastes.
