The Yokomo R12C uses the ballcrank setup. But it come with a number of different ballcrank with different width for you to adjust the Ackermann. But it create other sets of problem which can be easily solved. Check out the pic of my car.
So, the ballcrank will push the servo to the rear. So, I will need smaller electronics. I am using JR 3650, VTX-1 and RX-471, instead of my old Futaba 9650, HW 1S & RX-461.
It also pushes the weight slightly to the rear now, so, take note on balance. I personally don't see any big problem with this.
So far, the setup is more responsive, turn faster without losing grip. I am using stock "0 offset" ballcrank. Maybe another day, I will test with -0.5 or 1 offset and see what is the behavior.
It can be made to work, but I failed to do so. I'm all for it in this situation, they probably have the slop figured out.
