Folks,

Just helped bilster44 out with his steering wheel question.

The gap between the wheel and the clamshell is supposed to be about 1 to 1.5mm, but some wheels are thinner and placing the wheel almost against the shell. Also the wheel foam may be thicker than the wheel as well.

Quick solution is to use one or two fiber/phenolic washer from a brushed motor on the wheel control shaft, before screwing down the steering wheel. Each washer is 0.5mm thick, so no more than two is needed.
