Let me make myself clear: I will not buy another Mini car. Maybe we should all change to the affordable ABC car? Didn't we all go to Mini & F1 because the touring cars are more complicated & expensive? Then you talk about a new $600+ Tamiya 417? When is this going to end? When people stop showing up to race?
In all my years of racing, I have never seen a club pick on a certain brand of car. Do you want everyone to have a Tamiya 417 so we can be just like you?
Also, thank you for the definition of the word decimate. That's a really big word & it saved me a lot of time having to look it up in my dictionary.
Caesar,
You're going to do what you're going to do, and you've proven that time and time again,
regardless of what the rules are - written or not.
The name of the very thread we are all posting in is "
tamiya m chassis class." That is the class I'm interested in. If you choose to make it something else, aparently no one is interested in stopping you. Do as you like, you will anyway under any guise (look it up in your own dictionary) or excuse. like cost, which is absurd and everyone knows it. By the way, you've got $500 in electronics alone in your "Mini," and you claim this is about cost? Tell me you have a better defense than that?
I had hopes of this class self teching...
M-Chassis, 21.5/silver can, agree on tires, fixed gear by design. The same general rules that every Mini class in the country has. You want to do your usual "see what I can get away with. Really? You want to tech everyones car on a dyno before racing? Tell me you're kidding? Who's going to take the time to do that? Clearly a majority support your efforts. Awesome...but I've choices to, I'm not interested. I'm just one individual, won't matter to the class a bit.
Keep running the program like a wild west, where folks coming to compete at out track, or those going to compete at other tracks have no expectation of rules, or a general sense of fair competition, and you'll knock us back to the six man circle jerk it has been in the past. Maybe you're looking to go back to a six person on-road program that doesn't even have enough for two heats to marshall, we'll, that's one option. With this kind of nonsense, you'll be there soon - again.
