Mini is fun. I pretty much don't care who wins at this point, I prefer the smile I have leaving the stand. I go with 21.5 blinky because it'll run forever and not need a motor for years.
Crazy math time!
On the ABC front, not taking sides, the Genetic did have stock gearing out of the box. It did give a slight rollout bonus with the Stock 67 spur, stock 32 pinion to the M06s. Gear ratio was at 5.23 FDR, Rollout @ 1.20. Weight should be checked also. Mind you with a 21.5 extra weight doesn't really hurt, but they should at least be equal. Internal ratio of the car is 2.5.
Genetic Gearing:
If the car has a:
27 pinion = 6.20, rollout 1.01 (Sweep tires)
28 pinion = 5.98, rollout 1.05 (Sweep tires)
29 pinion = 5.78, rollout 1.09 (Sweep tires)
The mini is stated to be 5.8 FDR, 1.08 (Sweep tires) with the largest spur. I'm sure some experimentation will clean up any differences.
If we want to see what the car really has, put in a 28 pinion, take all the timing off the motor and let Tim drive it back to back with anyone's M06. John's little dyno would prove top speed at WOT and is a pretty elegant solution.
