I don't know. I remember the old days in "Stock 27T". Literally some cars were twice as fast as others due to motor building skills.

As a beginner class that we are trying to build (I assume) we might not want to be so exclusive. There are a few "Mini" type vehicles that fit the spirit of the class. A 1/12 foam pan car does not fit the spirit of the class.

Maybe I'm not clear on what the intent of the Mini class is? We all know that no two motors are the same, batteries vary, better servos are, well, better.

Should it be a cost limited beginner class? I don't know.
