This may be far fetched, but just popped in my head. The wheels have a specific offset, and I remember when my truck cornered the best I was using some practice tires that I used on my AE SC10 4x4 when I had it. I'm not saying this is a solution, but if you can find someone who will let you try a set it could give you what your looking for. I think the AE wheels narrow it up just a hair which may cause the quicker cornering.
