thanks for the info on the rear hinge pin location.
I changed it up last night for our tighter technical layout on hard packed dirt and the truck did NOT like that single change. Granted I could mess with setup to make it decent but since it was so far off the current setup, wasn't worth my time at the moment on a race day.
I did make my rear camber link longer from the Barry Baker setup and it was a great change for my setup/track. It had so much turn in and the rear was loose on our surface so i moved it out and it was a really nice change.
Downside, i overnighted a set of axles just so I could race it last night. Ended up breaking another rear axle. Always at the same point, right at the bottom of the threaded area before it expands. This time it wasn't a lawn dart scenario. Still the DE Borrego wheels and stock hexes. This time just during racing action. Luckily it was post "Main" just running a couple of laps since we were the last main of the night.
I race every Tuesday/Friday nights for the local club nights and a saturday or two a month, and then there is my normal practice nights during the week. My office is 5 min from track and house is 5 min the other way, haha. And I love my single life, hahah. So I'm hoping things can get figured out to keep this from happening
Like I said before, I think the big issue is the protruding axle shaft. We were having some close racing and got the wheels tangled I bet. It'll be the first thing to catch a pipe, wall, competitors wheel, etc...
I did round out the inside of one of those plastic hexes. Looks as if the pin spun freely and shaved the plastic down. Found a set of tekno aluminum hexes from an online shop and ordered up.
Truck is still a blast to drive even with these little "issues".
PS - as for tekno customer service - I called on Monday at around 4:30cst time and left a voicemail stating I wanted to order the axles I saw online "in stock" and wanted to overnight them but didn't see that shipping option specifically laid out and just wanted to see if it was an option or if I missed it in the list.
I also sent an email stating that exact same thing. I wasn't expecting replacements or angry at the situation, I just wanted to order the parts. I haven't received a call back or voicemail or email.
I was taken care of by a different vendor so I do not need anything at this point, more of a "so you know" to help better customer service. I know how it goes and sometimes things get missed.
