I normally would agree with you but I had some minor delamination at the rear pivot area right at the countersunk screw holes. I had to use CA to seal the area.
A friend of mine had that happen also
I'm just not sure a tiny film of ca on the edge would have prevented it ?
I guess it can't hurt anything though
And if done right, a glassy glued edge does look tight
