Now keeping it level with the ground push out with one hand while pulling in with the other. Basically making one end of the board go away from you while the other end of the board comes toward you. Think how difficult it would be to start the board moving, and stop the board once it is moving. It is because the weight is spread out. Now cut 3 feet off of the 2x4 and do the same thing. Imagine how much easier it would be to do the same thing. This is why a shorty pack changes the handling of the car. Now you can also think what would happen if you start holding your hands closer to one end of the board. This is like moving the pack front to back in the car. This is why it is/was important to pay attention in physics class. It really is not that hard to understand why things act the way they do.
