Has anyone played enough with these to answer if the on off switch is a simple circuit where turning on completes the circuit and nothing else?

Reason for asking is yesterday mine started playing up, on is always on, but sometimes even when switched off it stayed on...by playing with the wires it's the end in the switch rather than the esc and I am guessing its just shorting or something.

So basically what I was wondering was could I just cut the wires and solder them together, leaving it on 100% of the time to save hassle?
