The Purple, Lilac, Dbl Pink, Magenta and to a lesser degree Pink family of tires all get gummy as they heat up.

If traction is low to medium you will be faster and get more steering with Magenta fronts.

If traction is really high and you need a more mellow feel Lilacs will work until they heat up and then your car will get hard to drive. If you are running 13.5 or Mod Magentas or Pinks are a better option. If you are running 13.5 or 17.5 Blacks are a better option.

Changing from one family of tire to another will usually require a setup change of some kind to keep the feel you like.
