Broke in my modded CRE P5 on my Hudy bench using a special break in fuel from Bones Motorsports. The oil in the fuel has more ash in it then regular fuel. This causes a mild lapping effect. Motor was behaving as if it was fully broken in after only 1/2 hour and 1 quart of fuel.
Headed out to Fear Farm to give it a test ride. Put on bald tires, as I thought I would still be breaking it in, NOT! This thing was ready to scream after one "tuning" tank on the track. However, the tires were spinning so badly I could hardly get over jumps. Brought it in, adjusted my BUKU clutch from my damp track settings to slippery track conditions (loosened up #0 spring and tightened up #2 spring) and WOW!!!! What a difference. Jumps no problem. Getting over jumps that normally are hard to jump in damp track conditions.
This video is hard to see, as my head mounted Go Pro camera is not great on such a large track.
This video is just fooling around on the big triple by the drivers stand. With this
crazy powerful motor I could make the triple effortlessly without even jumping over the first table top.
Neal. Hope you got the mods you did to this one written down!!!!!!!!!! Bottom end is fantastic (pulled the BUKU clutch with low settings with ease) and the top end is crazy fast. I hate to see it when it is fully broken in with lower % oil race fuel in it!!!!!!!!
Thanks again CRE.
