I'm glad you said that about the super soft compounds. I was really pondering if soft would be soft enough, especially in the early morning, and "maybe" a soft compound for the later afternoon rounds.
Tread pattern is something I just don't know anything about regarding racing on red clay (firm, but, slightly dusty).
