A fellow racer did that very same thing. It cracked and he waited for them to be released. Turns out the old style fit just fine. He didn't even have to mod it work.
The only difference between the .1 and .2 shock towers is that they added an extra mounting hole (further inside) that pretty much no one will likely ever need
