I had a Sidewinder that was cutting out and just opened the case, removed the wires and just bridged the wire's solder pads with solder. Problem solved. Before you cut the switch out just try lowering the BEC voltage to 5.0v, this will provide a little more current and possibly prevent brown outs. Also try a cap across the RX batt. input. I have used the MMP in several vehicles with a number of different servos and have never needed an external BEC. I am running a MMP with a Tekin Pro4 4600 along with a JR 8717MG servo in a SCTE with no issues.
