Can anyone suggest a good brushless setup for my sc10 4x4? Im looking for something that can be bought on tower hobbies on easypay. I had a castle creations sct 3800 combo in my sc10 2wd before but i had temp issues. I want something that will give me some good top speed for outdoor use and some good power for on the track. Can anyone suggest something? I was thinking maybe a mamba max pro 4600kv combo. Something that i can run 2 and 3s lipos. Any help would be apreciated.
To be honest, For bang for the buck I would get the Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro ESC as its like $90 right now from Speed Passion direct, brand new.
Then, buy whatever motor you want from tower. Usually the membership codes work best around the 150 mark, and the 300 mark. You get the most percentage discount and free shipping from what I recall.
The ESC I recommend is what I ran in my SC10 4x4 with the 4000Kv Pro4 motor. It also works well for 550 2 Pole motors. If you want the Reventon Pro from Speed Passion, it does NOT work with 4 Pole motors.
The RX8 from Tekin is a great ESC however, no doubt. I am also curious about that new Viper RC ESC that is about the same price but has a longer warranty, 1 year.
