Default yearly marshalling thread

Just have to toss this out there again for everyones enjoyment.

Racing is great fun. The thrill of competition. Blazing speeds. Heart pounding action. It is only half the story when racing. The other half is marshalling.

When you sign up to race you commit yourself to being a good sport on the track. The other half is being a good marshall. It is every bit as important as when you have your controller in your hand.

First, when your race is done get your stuff back to the pits and return immediately to the track to marshall. Save the repairs, story telling and eating for when you get back in ten minutes. Drivers are practicing and need your help during warm up.

Know the area of the track that you are responsible for. Discuss it with your fellow marshalls where and who covers what.

Keep your focus on YOUR area of the track. We all enjoy a great race but you must keep your mind on your job...marshalling. Texting, talking to a friend, and general daydreaming should not be happening. Your quality of marshalling can help make or break a drivers night of enjoyment. It is one thing to crash...everyone does... but not getting help makes things worse.

Be safe out there. We are known for blinding fast speed and high flying action at MARCCA. Always be sure that you keep yourself alert and protected at all times.

Make sure you put cars down where they won't be immediately hit. Marshall cars in the order that they crashed. Put them back on track where they belong and pointed in the right direction.

Marshalling is like being a good driver. It is a learned skill. It is something all of us can work on to be better.
