Default Help on cleaning

I've posted on this subject before and would like some continued opinons.
I have 4 RC cars, all electric and run at an outdoor offroad clay track.
I use simple green and WD40 for cleaning now. I have tried a mixture of 70% simple green, 30% WD40 and also have tried 100% WD40. In both cases, I use air to blow off clay then soak the parts down, then blow off again. I know better than to get simple green in electronics but have used with some care 100% WD40 on electronics but very carefully.

Here is the problem I'd like to solve. I do not like the oily film left over from using either mixture. No matter how much I blow the oil off there is still oily residue left on the body and parts. I have seen where denatured alcohol is used and I suspect it will help evaporate WD40 left over on parts.

I like to keep my cars fairly clean without getting fanatical. Since I have a mechanical background, I know the dangers of water or dirt contaminents into bearings and other moving parts.

I anyone has a good mixture ratio or recommendation on this, please help.

Thanks, Rick
