the small 2/3 A cells dont like a lot of amperage. you can charge them at 1 amp, however they are better off being charged at a lower current. when i have time i put them on the charger at .5 amps.

it is best to fully discharge any nicd or nimh battery. if you charge it from half charged it will develop memory and go dead quicker. if your charger has a discharge function you can use it, being a basher i tend to run them down as far as possible first, then discharge them on my charger.
