On both of my CRC axles, the diff ring does not 'snap' into place but has a little freedom of movement in every direction, and this means that in break-in and running the rings move and dont wear a seated ball grove, but more of a wide polished area... meaning it never really breaks in. We used to use a little 3M weatherstrip adhesive. The yellow kind seams to set up faster. You can pick it up at most auto part stores.
