About the Triad spur gear noise.... all plastic parts are molded with zero moisture because the temps would make any water turn to steam in the press. Thus, after molding they need to absorb moisture back in the air. Normally a spur gear that you buy on the shop wall was made 6-12 months ago, but the Triad was only released in August. Most people that live in an environment with some moisture in the air will be fine BUT there are cases like guys from Colorado that have cold weather and dry air.
If you do have problems, you can soak your spur in a ziplock full of water for 24-48 hours to speed up the process and you'll be amazed at the difference. We had to do this for all of the original batch of gears which were made only weeks before the launch.
