You would be miles ahead if you just search the FS threads and find a more current lipo stlye chassis than running what you have. I see many cars that can fit your needs for as little as $100 for a roller up to around $300ish for artr. I have no idea where to find round cells these days but you can run the 1s lipo on one side of the t-bar and the electronics on the other side. Most of the time you will have to add weight to the electonics side to get the car balanced but it can work. As to the motor I did for fun fit one brushless motor in an old 12i pod so it can be done(a balistic motor I think) but its a very tight fit. Good luck whichever way you go.
