AFAIK you cant affect the rear toe with shims, only new hubs.
Toe, if you add shims to the rear, you take away Anti Squat. If you add it to the front of the pivot you add. .5mm shim = 1 degree adjustment.
Inserts are just for caster, more caster = less steering. The inside and outside options adjust the track width of the car, which can make it react faster or slower depending on your shock setup.
The other shims on the ballstuds affect roll.
