Anybody else stripping their top plates?

I admit I'm not the best driver and I will occasionally hit something. So maybe that's why I keep stripping the top plate. I'm careful not to over-tighten the 3 screws on the other end into the chassis. (the ones with the countersink washers. I even save those 3 and do those last.)
