Don't be too concerned with the composite hinge pin braces, they're really good. Actually, don't be concerned at all. I'll give you a little background on them.

We originally made them for the EB48. They held up great unless you hit something REALLY hard. We kept making them stronger and stronger and to this day we still have a test buggy running them. Ultimately though, we decided to go with the 7075 braces for the buggy market.

When the testing started on the SC truck, we knew that they would be the ticket since the truck is much lighter than the buggy. Add a big front bumper into the mix and you have one tough setup that we are 100% confident in. ALL of our test trucks are running the composite braces and we honestly haven't had any issues with them.

There are other composite parts on the truck as well. Plastic gets a bad rap when used improperly. But if a composite part fits the application, it is the best material for the job. It's lighter, just as durable, and less expensive. This allows us to bring the kit to market at a more reasonable cost, which helps everyone.

For comparison, Kyosho, Mugen, XRay and others have all used (and are still using some) composite braces for years.

All that said, we understand the desire for aluminum. But we have decided on our product release path and we want to make the biggest impact possible. It came down to exclusion or inclusion - and we didn't want to exclude anybody by releasing a kit that only a few could afford. This is better for the hobby, it's better for 90% of the racers, and it will allow us to continue with our vision of a stronger RC industry.

In other news, we should have a release date and pricing info next week. Oh yeah, and we have a couple videos to post up too. We filmed our race last night so you can get a better feel for how these trucks perform on the track .
