With the bumper mounted that way watch to see that it doesn't deform over time and begin to drag. I stopped mounting it that way because after a few hits it bent down and wold drag the carpet. I couldn't figure out for a couple of runs why the car was so loos off power.
That is what happened to my 1/12th with a Slapmaster bumper. I have bought a piece of 1/8" Lexan and I am going to make a bumper out of that. I did the same with 3/16" Lexan on my WGT car and it works fine.
