Thanks for writing this detailed description. I was just too lazy to go that far into detail.
By the time I started racing VTA (May 2011) the 25.5 motor and non-timing ESC's were already in effect. I can't explain why, but the way the USVTA rules are written right now (with no ambiguity on motors, ESC's, tires, bodies, or battery mAh) is working tremendously well and VTA classes are growing like weeds all around the world! Thank you RobK for making it work so well.
